DLF-1 residents want MCG to set the waste processing unit

Written by news2in

Gurgaon: Worried on irregular garbage collection and incorrect waste disposal, a group of DLF-1 population has launched an online petition to get support for effective implementation of solid waste management rules (SWM), 2016.
The residents demand that citizenship authority prepare Decentralized resource recovery facilities in Ward 34.
Online petitions have collected more than 200 signatures.
Although many residents have adopted waste separation on sources, further management has become a problem with the absence of separate collection, they claim.
“While the Civic body preached the separation of waste in the source, the garbage we cut finally got along and finally landed at a landfill.
We will take this petition to the main minister too,” Poonam Jain, Secretary General DLF-1 A-Block Extension Rwa, say.
“Garbage collection has been irregular.
The MCG sub-vendor is not trained correctly and lacks monitor,” Anand Mishra said, residents of DLF-1.
When contacted, Ward 34 board members Rama Rani Rathee said, “We encourage residents to adopt the separation of waste in the source and coordinate with MCG officials to ensure only separate waste collected separately.
MCG has also issued Challans to several vendors who have violated the norm.
“McG, meanwhile, said the Civic’s body had worked towards the management of decentralization waste to reduce the burden on TPA Bandhwari.
“Material recovery facility in three locations has been approved,” said the commissioner together (headquarters) Hariom Attri
