Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced Ex Gratia at RS 30 Lakh in the case of the death of Polling Personnel due to Covid-19.
Infected personnel will also be eligible for medical treatment without cash.
About 1.5 lakh government officials and more than 200 platoon security forces will be involved during the election of Panchayat which will be held in five phases starting from February 16.
The amount of Ex Gratia applies to officials of the Central and State, Local and State of State, Local Body or Driver, Government Assistants and Private Vehicles and Police Personnel, including central police forces, involved in tasks related to election during Pancrayat polls, said Secretary of SEC.
The SEC has also increased Ex Gratia to Rs 30 Lakh 20 lakh for people’s families about electoral assignments, who died or maintained an accidental injury or due to acts of violence or because of Covid-19 during rural polls.
Compensation for deaths Due to other reasons have increased to Rs 15 Lakh from Rs 10 Lakh.
For permanent disability in the assignment, compensation has been revised to RS 15 Lakh from Rs 10 Lakh.
For permanent disabilities due to accidents or in other ways, polls will get Rs 7.5 lakh instead of Rs 5 Lakh.
