1.20 lakh death due to negligence in a road accident in 2020, an average of 328 every day: NCRB report

New Delhi: India recorded 1.20 lakh cases “death due to negligence relating to road accidents” by 2020 – 328 people lost their lives every day on average – although locked by Covid-19, according to government data.
As many as 3.92 lakh lakh has been lost in three years in death due to negligence related to the accident on the road, the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) revealed in the annual ‘Indian Crime’ report for 2020.
While 1.20 lakh death as it was recorded in 2020, the numbers reached 1.36 lakh in 2019 and 1.35 lakh in 2018, data showed.
The country also recorded the cases of 1.35 lakh “Hit and Run” since 2018, the NCRB report, which functions under the United Ministry of the United States, shows.
In 2020 alone, there were 41,196 cases of “Hit and Run” while there were 47,504 cases such as that in 2019 and 47,028 in 2018, the report showed.
On average, there are 112 cases of “Hit and Run” reporting throughout the country every day in the past year, according to data.
Cases that caused “sickness” by rashes or driving were negligent in the public way of 1.30 lakh in 2020, 1.60 lakh in 2019 and 1.66 lakh in 2018, while the cases “painful painful” reached 85,920 , 1.08 lakh, respectively, data shows.
Meanwhile, 52 cases of deaths due to negligence relating to train accidents were recorded throughout the country by 2020, from 55 years 2019 and 35 in 2018, the report showed.
During 2020, India also recorded 133 cases of “death due to medical negligence”, until 2018 and 218 in 2018, NCRB data showed.
There were 51 cases of “death due to civil body negligence” in 2020 while there were 147 cases in 2019 and 40 in 2018, according to the report.
6,367 Cases “Death due to other negligence” were reported throughout the country by 2020, up from 7,912 in 2019 and 8,687 in 2018, it showed.
NCRB stated in a report that the country continued to undergo a total locking from March 25, 2020 to May 31 2020 because of the Pandemic Covid-19 where movement in the public space was “very limited”.
