Ahmedabad: On Friday, Gujarat witnessed a record vaccination of 23.6 lakh people – 9 lakh got the first dose while 14.6 lakh took the second shot from the Covid-19 vaccine.
With this, Gujarat now has 33% or a third of its qualified population (over 18 years) fully vaccinated.
On Saturday morning, 1.64 crore from 4.93 crore populations that meet the requirements are fully vaccinated.
In addition, 3.96 Crore has taken at least one shot, covering 80.5% of the country’s eligible population.
The total analysis of the population coverage revealed that the peak of Gujarat was in the first and second dose coverage in India.
While 27% of the total vaccinated state population, 59% covered with at least one dose.
Among major countries in terms of total vaccination, Karnataka emerged second with 56% and 21% coverage for the first and second dose, respectively, Madhya Pradesh with 55% and 15% coverage.
Dr.
Nayan Jani, the state immunization officer, said that the third-third population of vaccinated countries, which would be the main factor to thwart the third wave of pandemic.
“We are pleased with the response on September 17 because about 68% of vaccinations take place in rural areas.

Among the cities, Jamnagar has 81% of the population who meets the requirements of getting shots, followed by Gandhinagar (75%).
Ahmedabad and the letter recorded a 41% coverage of a qualified population for full vaccination.
Experts emphasize the need for vaccination because the country for the past three days has recorded a rise in Daily Covid cases.

Ahmedabad has doubled the case at 11 – highest in two months.
