1.3L more properties under the ambit tax after the MCG survey

Gurgaon: A property tax survey conducted by corporation of Gurgaon City (MCG) has found that the traits that fall under the Ambit Tax have increased from 3.7 lakh to 5 lakh.
This does not include a new area added to the MCG limit in December 2020.
The Civic Agency has now invited objections, if any, from the population.
MCG officials said the tax assessment would be made after the objection was received after the objection.
The Civic’s body has outsourced the work conducting a survey to private consulting companies and has assigned their jobs in 2019.
Officials said the company took a long time to complete the survey.
“When we hired a company, we have around 3.7 lakh property and at the end of the survey, 1.3 lakh more properties have been added to the tax net.

This property includes commercial, housing and plot properties.
Claims and objections can be raised in the online portal www.pmsharyana.com.
For example, if the surveyor has made an assessment that a property has an area of ​​5,000 square meters and the property owner says it is 4,000 square meters, objections can be filed online because the tax bill will be issued based on the survey.
“After the objection is raised, we will send an assessment notification to the property owner and the bill will be made accordingly.
The bill will also include property contributions, if any,” added Kumar.Officials said the addition of new properties under the Ambit Tax will increase corporate income.
MCG income from property taxes in 2021-22 is estimated to be 1,235 crore rs.
However, it was only collected around Rs 133 Crore until now.
