Letter: On Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, the Ministry of Health Municipal Corporation (SMC) provided 1.78 lakh vaccine doses to residents up to 7pm.
After setting the target 2 doses of lakh, the vaccination drive is carried out on several centers until late at night.
The city health team provides the highest number of doses in the state on Friday.
Officials claimed that the city might be among the top five in this country in connection with the number of vaccines managed.
“We reached 1.78 lakh and given the ongoing vaccination of 2 doses of lakh will be given.
The majority of residents are called through a knock campaign,” said a health official.
“We have prepared in advance because they reached 2 targets of lakh doses and residents were called by visiting their homes or by telephone,” said an official.
Apart from the SMC health center, vaccination is carried out in various business hubs and community rooms.
On August 31 the city was above the state with 78,809 shots.
Of the 34.32 lakh targeted the city population of 31.86 lakh has taken the first dose while 13.50 lakh was fully vaccinated.
A total of 45.37 doses have been given in the city so far.
According to the latest numbers 92% of the targeted population gets the first dose while 42% also gets a second dose.
