Lucknow: Union Ministry of Road Transportation & Highway has approved Rs 1,935 Crore for the construction of Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway.

The six lajur toll road will reduce travel time between two cities to 55 minutes from two hours.
More than 25,000 commuters every day ply on the route.
The toll road will also increase commercial activities in the region.
“The 63-km toll road will start from Amusi airport and connect with the ring road proposed in Kanpur through Unnao.
From the total distance, about 13km part of the toll road from the Amusi Airport to Bunni near Unnao will increase,” Tripathi weapons, Lucknow MP representatives And Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, told toi.
“Linkway will join six flyers, one train over the bridge, 38 underpasses and three main bridges.
This will pass 11 Lucknow villages and 30 Unnao toll roads will also be connected with the outer ring road under construction in Lucknow,” he added.
Section of a 13 km increase will be built by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the first phase and the remainder by the Ekspres Industrial Development Authority.
The deadline for completing the project is 2023.
NHAI project manager NN Giri said, “Tender to employ contractors has begun and around 65% of land acquisition work is also complete.
Construction is expected to begin in January, and will take about two years Toll to complete.
