Patna: A criminal was killed and three of his colleagues in addition to two civilians were injured in a fire exchange because the police thwarted an attempt to loot the bank under the Mozaffarpur police station on Monday.
The police recovered five Communtrade pistols from the ownership of the captured bank robber.
Injuries have been treated at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur for care.
The deceased has not been identified.
Three bank robbers arrested were identified as Rudra Singh, Prashant Kumar and Bansal.
Civilians who were injured in the shooting were identified as Buddhan, a shopkeeper, and Rohit.
The incident occurred at around 3:45 a.m.
at the Pachrukhi Branch of Bank Baroda, about 30 km from the district headquarters.
The robbers entered the bank and tried to raise cash from the counter.
They pressed the manager to hand over the chest key.
They opened fire when bank employees rejected robbery.
When he heard gunshots, some local residents warned Motion Police, who rushed to the place not in a short time.
Motipur police computer Sho Anil Kumar said they were facing a bullet kick from robbers.
“We also replied to self-defense, causing injury to four of them.
Some of their hands managed to escape taking advantage of riots after shooting at the bank,” Sho told this reporter by telephone.

Muzaffarpur SSP Jayant Kant visited the place.
An investigative officer claimed that booty efforts were thwarted by the police.
Then, a team of forensic science laboratories visited the bank and collected samples for evidence.
