Srinagar: A 17-year-old girl died and six others were injured in a blast in a residential house in Kupwara District in Jammu and Kashmir, with officials said the nature of the explosion was not immediately clear.
The explosion took place at Ghulam Ahmad Wani’s house at Tattoo in the Handwara area in the district around 8:45 a.m., the official said.
They said Shabnum Wani (17) died in the incident, while six others, were all believed to be members of the family owner’s family, sustainable injury.
What was injured had rushed to the hospital and the police had begun to investigate the nature of the explosion, officials said.
They said the police suspected the explosion due to the LPG cylinder explosion, but the exact cause would be known in time.
