Bloemfontein: India A Bowlers had a difficult time on the field when Pieter Malan and Tony De Zorzi scored a centuries to take South Africa A to 343 for three on the first day on Tuesday.
After choosing a bowl, the LED Team Panchus Priyank got two original goals before Malan (157 Bating Off 258 Balls) and Zorzi (117 OFF 186) shared a 217-run seat for the third goal to place South Africa in a strong position in a four-day game.
Pacer Navdeep Saini, who has lost its place in the Indian team, took the goal and so was the Speedster Armster Arzan Nagwaswalla and Malik Umran, which was picked in the squad after impressing extra steps in the IPL.
All three spinners – Rahul Chahar, K Gowtham and Baba Aparajith – failed to take the goal.
Chahar, who was part of the recent T20 home series against New Zealand, conceded 75 running on 19 overs.
The three-match series is being scheduled ahead of a senior team tour in South Africa starting next month.
The opening of Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari, the controversy was not chosen for two home tests on New Zealand, also part of the squad.
