Mathura: Ten people have been arrested for alleged their involvement in malpractice tests during the eligibility test of Uttar Pradesh Teachers (UPTET), officials said on Monday.
The arrest was made on Sunday in a joint police operation, a special operating group (SOG) and supervision officials.
Senior Mathura Supervisor from Police (SSP) Gaurav Grover said, “Rs 1,53,000 in cash, 10 cellphones, three receipt cards and two duplicate answers restored from the defendant’s ownership.”
The gang leader, 32-year-old Vijai, has claimed his involvement in the malpractice test, officials said.

The gang sent several proxy candidates to take the exam on Sunday.
Vijay and eight others were accused of – Hanumanram, Ramesh Kumar, Pradeep, Surendra, Govind, Dinesh, Mangelal and Dori Lal – derived from Rajasthan.
The remaining defendant, Laxmi Narain, came from Mathura at Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The arrest was sent to detention in the court.
The police said the effort was to arrest the remaining gang members.
