Nagpur: The police have registered a violation of at least 10 people because it allegedly commanded a social boycycle from a 32-year-old man and his family in Mandwa Village in Bhivapur Tehsil from Nagpur Regency after the cancellation of marriage, an official from the Nagpur rural police said Thursday.
The man who was identified as Vijay Rathod, on Thursday filed a complaint at the Bhivapur police station, accused the insult by a group of villagers, who forced him to pay compensation for the cancellation of marriage in 2020, police said.
Those who have been ordered include Dawla Jadhav (ride), Jhuma Meghawat, Tarachand Meghawat, Salamaram Chavan, Kisan Pawar, Balasashab Rathod, Devram Rathod, Bahadur Rathod, Nelsingh Pawar and Chelsingh Pawar, all residents of Mandwa.
The police said the victim was responsible to a woman from her community in February 2020 and the marriage was set in May 2020.
However, because Corona induced the kuncian, it was postponed before being canceled in December 2020.
However, the relatives of the woman demanded RS70,000 from him as compensation, which Denied Rathod to pay and vice versa expressed his willingness to marry the same woman.
However, members of the local community were allegedly trying to press it to pay money.
But when he refused, 10 members of their community boycotted the complainant and his family at a meeting held last year.
After the meeting, the complainant family is not permitted to talk to anyone who is included in their community, visit the temple or attend all functions or celebrations of community members in the village.
Police said, based on Rathod’s complaint, a violation was registered with 10 people under the parts of Maharashtra’s prohibition from social boycott (prevention, ban and change) of the Act, 2016, and under various parts of the IPC.
