10% dip in the license for biz operators

Coimbatore: The number of licenses issued by the food security department for food business operators has fallen 10% compared to pre-covid time, showing data.
According to officials, many restaurants are closed because low sales do not occur in the pandemic updating the license.
A drive is ongoing to ensure that all operators have a valid license.
There are 10,450 food business operators, the annual change of more than Rs 12 lakh.
In addition, there are 27,500 food business operators whose annual turnover is less than Rs 12 lakh.
While those who have a turnover above RS 12 Lakh must get a license by paying Rs 2,000 per year, which is below the threshold need to get a registration certificate by paying RS 100.AT at this time, 8,833 food business operators or 84.5% of business estimates Operator food, has obtained a license.
Similarly, 23,415 or 85% of food business operators have obtained a registration certificate.
Operators in both segments have obtained a license and registration of 95% before Covid-19, officials also said.
Food security officers in K Tamil Selvan said that operators might not renew their license because of Covid-19.
“They will be asked to update their license certificate and registration.
The certificate is mandatory because it makes it easy to track it when complaints are raised by consumers,” he said.
“Now it is obliged to print a license number on the bill so that customers can raise complaints.
Food security officers will check the details of the valid license / registration in their respective areas.
They will also check whether the license / registration number is printed on the bill and voucher.”
