Peshawar, Pakistan: At least ten people, including at least six Chinese citizens and one Pakistani army, killed in a blast that targets buses in remote areas in North Pakistan on Wednesday.
“The explosion triggered fire on the engine, dropping a vehicle to a ravine that killed 10 people, including six Chinese citizens,” said a local administration official told AFP, asked not to be named.
31 Chinese citizens were further injured in the explosion in Kohistan Regency for the top, he added.
However, it was not immediately clear whether the explosion was the result of a roadside device or something planted on the bus, several sources told Reuters.
“The bus falls into a deep ravine after the explosion and causes a big loss.
One Chinese engineer and one soldier is lost.
Rescue operations launched and all government machines have been mobilized to save injured by air ambulances,” the senior government.
Officially told Reuters with anonymity requirements.
The Dasu Hydroelectric project is part of the China-Pakistani economic corridor (CPEC), an investment plan of $ 65 billion under the Beijing belt and road initiative aimed at connecting West China to Gwadar Sea Port in South Pakistan.
Chinese engineers along with Pakistani construction workers have worked on hydropower and several other power plants for several years in the area where the explosion occurred.
