Rajkot: Ten more people were arrested for alleged their involvement brutally struggling six members of the Dalit family in Ner Bhacha Taluka Village last week.
With fresh arrests, the total number of people held has reached 17 even when the main allegations of Bhanji Suthar continue to avoid the police.
Police said 10 defendants were nabbed after intensive allowance operations and information received through human and technical sources.
The arrested attackers have been identified as Keshra Rabari, Arjan Rabari, Dinesh Jairam Maraj, Rajesh Maraj, Dinesh Ramji Maraj, Vela AHIR, Koli Sava, Chouda Koli, Navghan Koli and Momaya Koli.
Previously, seven people were arrested.
The police said that all the accused of this was a resident of the Locality of Ner Village and was involved in the attack on the family of Jaga Vaghela.
In his complaint, Vaghela had alleged that Suthar had held a meeting where it was decided to attack the family.
According to complaints, members of the top caste, during this meeting, decided to release their buffaloes on his farm and damage the plants.
When Vaghela and Kinnya rushed to the farm, they were attacked.
It was alleged that the attack was planned as Vaghela and his family members attended the installation ceremony of a temple in the village even though he was asked not to come.
The police, however, have taken this accusation with a little salt that the incident was the fall of political competition between Vaghela and Suthar because the former was very chosen as Sarpanch by the village.
