Noida: Noida Authority has begun the process of establishing a 10 night shelter in the city, with all Covid safety protocols in place.
While two are ready at the center of the Sector 135 community and at the Noida Stadium in the 21A sector, each, others are expected to be opened in Sorkha immediately.
Seven more will also appear in various regions in the city immediately, officials said.
Also, there will be separate settings for men and women in this shelter which will be equipped with beds, mattresses, blankets and drinking water and toilet facilities.
The sanctuary will be available for free for homeless people and in need, according to officials.
Furthermore, this shelter will have a caregiver, the contact number will be displayed at the entry gate and security guard at night.
The night shelter at the Noida Stadium will accommodate 70 people and in sector 135 around 40 people.
“The numbers have remained low to ensure social distance maintained according to the Covid protocol,” said an official from the Noida Authority.
“All shelters will be dissed every day.
In addition, there will be provisions for firewood to provide comfort to people during cooler nights.”
