Patna: Minister of Justice (CM) Nitish Kumar on Saturday said 10 people from Bihar died in the rain and flood of Uttarakhand recently.
He said all 10 victims came from the West Chamaran district.
“We received information about the deaths of three people from Bihar three days ago.
Then we got information about the death of seven more people from Bihar,” Nitish told reporters here, he added that the bodies of three people had reached their original place in the West Chamaran district, While the remaining seven bodies will arrive on Sundays.
CM said the senior government officer Bihar and Commissioner of the population in Delhi was in a regular touch with Uttarakhand officials.
Nitish announced the payment of EX Gratia each from RS 2 Lakh each of the subsequent Relief CM funds from all 10 people killed in the Uttarakhand tragedy.
Nitish spoke with media people after marking ‘Prochar Raths (ProCaganda Chariots) for Rabbi Maha Abhiyan (2021-22).
Nitish refused to make comments about the recent split at the Grand Alliance.
“We are not interested in this problem,” he said.
