MUMBAI: More than three months following Supreme Court struck down the Maratha plan, the MVA administration on Monday decided to permit the Maratha public to get benefits under the 10 percent EWS (economically poorer segments ) quota in government jobs and schooling.
However Marathas would need to compete with other people in the open group for 10 percent EWS quota, although the quota the neighborhood was awarded by Maharashtra and now stands quashed had awarded it 12 percent reservation in projects and 13 percent in schooling.

Among the convenors of this Maratha Kranti Morcha, Vinod Patil, said the country isn’t provided anything extra to the neighborhood as EWS gains are for people from the non-reserved class.
“The country should describe what might be achieved to the community since the EWS quota doesn’t have anything to do with this country.
It’s a fundamental government reservation that individuals from several religions and castes could avail of all,” Patil said.
The SC struck the Maratha lien May 5, terming it”unconstitutional.
” Following the verdict, the state appointed a committee headed by former CJ of Allahabad high court Dilip Bhosale to examine the purchase.
The panel has been requested to publish its report by May 31.
The country has extended the deadline to June 7.
