10 Property Dealers Sell Land GMC Set aside for CM Project, Finds Panel

Ghaziabad: The four member committee founded by Ghaziabad District Judge to see illegal sales of the government’s land has identified 10 property dealers who allegedly sell plots intended for a project that is a stone foundation.
Many families sold plots also build houses on it.
The committee, who handed over its findings on October 6, has also recommended that Hospital 3.5 Crore be restored from a property dealer accused of compensation to 14 families whose homes were destroyed by Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) last year.
It was said that the defendant was ordered under the Gangster law.
There is a suspicion that this property dealer shines each other with government officials to sell the plot right under their nose.
Illegal government land sales at Shanti Nagar appeared in October last year, when GMC officials visited the site that had been previously identified for political institutions.
The Stone Foundation from the Institute was determined by the minister’s chairman in 2018 and the Cabinet has approved the project at a cost of Rs 200 Crore.
However, when the surveyor went for site inspection, they found most of the land had been interrupted and some people even built houses on them.
On October 10 last year, GMC drives demolition.
14 family houses were destroyed at 741sqm, the first Civic body needed.
Residents who allegedly sold plots by 10 property dealers approached district judges, who founded the committee to investigate irregularities.
“The fraud was committed over the years,” said Commissioner GMC Mahendra Singh Tanwar.
The inspection also revealed that 101 houses had reached a total of 1.3 hectares of GMC land.
“GMC does a demolition drive after residents fail to produce relevant documents.
We need 741sqm at the beginning and 14 houses on it are destroyed,” Tanwar said.
“The cost of 741sqm is Rs 2.2 Crore and from 14 buildings destroyed by RS 1.3 Crore.
The Committee has recommended that Hospital 3.5 Crore restored from 10 land dealers and family compensated,” he added.
Most villagers fall into land traps are migrant workers.
Because GMC does not cost the ground or placing a signboard, the defendant feels easier to take out the plot as their property.
Asked whether GMC officials hand in hand with property dealers, he said, “If anyone found has been involved, a FIR will be submitted against them.” There are around 100 more families who have built houses on GMC land.
Ghaziabad Tehsildar has been entrusted with the responsibility of the case of lodging to anyone who was found guilty.
