1,000 police, CRPF Jawan was deployed for the eviction of other Assam

Hojai: Weeks after the driving in Dholpur in Dholpur District Assam saw the murder of two civilians in shooting police, which made international headlines, all state governments would make a similar encouragement on Monday to drive settlers from the Lumding reserve forest in the Hojai district, Where administrations have mobilized 1,000 police personnel and CRPF there.

Acting in the order of the Gahati High Court, the state government will clean up 1,410 hectares of encroachment land gradually.
Deputy Hojai Commissioner Anupam Choudhury told toi that the situation in the area was normal now and more than 99% of families have gone after the district government advised them to leave the place.
“A total of 670 families have settled there and were involved in cultivation.
We have advised people for the past few days.
Now, less than 1% of the family is there, who will also leave the place on Monday,” Choudhury added.
He said the settlers understood the HC sequence during counseling and left the place.
“This will be a subtle eviction,” he added.
On September 23, two civilians, including a 12-year-old child, was killed in shooting police in Dholpur when the villagers attacked the police and district administrative officials during the eviction.
Meanwhile, Hojai’s supervisor from Police Barun Purkayastha told TI that around 1,000 police officers and CRPF had been deployed in Lumding’s reserve forest for three days since Sunday.
“The spread of the police and CRPF personnel is a normal procedure.
This is done to avoid the possibility of an unwanted situation.
However, the situation here in the normal forest because the maximum family has left their land occupied,” he added.
Witnesses moved away on the 1st day of the incident listener, reports the watershed.
District Development Commissioner, Subhalaxmi Deka, who is an investigative officer, said there were no individuals or organizations that had given verbal statements or submitted a written statement about the incident before the authorities on Sunday.
