Pune: Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Thursday recorded 1,012 fresh Covid-19 cases, while daily recovery fell to 544.
Rural areas continue to report the highest (569) daily patients.
PMC and PCMC limits add 254 and 187 new cases, on Thursday.
The decline in recovery encouraged the calculation of active patients to 8,442 on Thursday night, including 3,929 in house isolation.
Recovery within PMC boundaries fell to 119 in the last 24 hours, while 38 patients were dismissed in the Pimpri Chichwad area.
In the rural part, 377 patients were declared cured on Thursday.
This region did 29,645 tests on Thursday.
These include more than 14,700 tests carried out in the Rural PMR, more than 9,500 samples were checked within the PMC limit and 5,323 in the PCMC area.
A report released by the District Health Office stated that 18 more patients died of infection on PMR on Thursday.
Rural parts recorded 11 deaths while five patients died within the PMC and two limits at Pimpri Chinchwad.
The victim of the area is now 18,556.
