Gurugram: The Ministry of Education has decided to convert 104 out of more than 1,000 Angganwadi centers in Gurugram into the playschools model.
The minister’s chairman has announced that more than 1,000 warwadi centers throughout the country will be converted to playschool on the national education policy line.
Earlier this year, the plan is to convert 55 Angganwadi centers in Gurugram to be a playschools model.
This number has now been upgraded to 104.
“The state government has a special emphasis on bridging the gap between private school education and government schools.
While several steps have been taken to improve the infrastructure and quality of education in schools for class 1 to 12, the focus is now in providing Playschools options to students who are unable to buy private school education.
We aim to launch 104 playschools models, where children will not only get quality education, but also better nutrition, “said an official of the district education department.
The government has directed the causes of Angganwadi not to allow children until October 30.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, along with the Department of Women and Child Welfare (WCD), is preparing for the outline of standard operating procedures (SOP) to run this new Pharschools.
In addition to promising education and submission of better nutrition services to children, the department will carry out the fresh promise of the Junior Basic Training Teacher (JBT) for these centers.
“While the minimum qualifying criteria for workers’ workers are 10 passages, Playschool will have a skilled teacher.
They will become a JBT teacher of women who will be given skills development training in forming children’s physical, psychological, and emotional intelligence,” officially added.
In October last year, the Department of Basic Education and WCD had signed an agreement with the Pratham Education Foundation, an NGO, not only to rebuild the Centers of Angganwadi into the playschools but also increased the Supervisor of Angganwadi into the main coach by giving them training in skills development.
Through this, the government hopes to improve education given to children in their early years and improve their cognitive abilities, which will ultimately improve student performance during their school years.
WCD is assigned to identify the center and nominate the Supervisor of Anganwadi for training.
The department also explores relations with private companies and encourages them to provide input in overhauling infrastructure of these schools based on corporate social responsibility initiatives.
