Ludhiana: Ludhiana reported 1,048 fresh Covid-19 cases and five deaths on Thursday.
The deceased was a 30-year-old woman from Sector 39 Chandigarh Road, a 74-year-old woman from Janta Colony, a 76-year-old woman from a Dhandra man, 55 years old from Malak Village in Jagraon and 75 years – making a man from Bilga Village in Sahnewal.
With these deaths, the total number of deaths in the district has reached 2,158.
People from Moga District in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh also died of the virus during treatment in Ludhiana on Thursday, where 90,653 patients had recovered and 8,563 cases were active.
22 patients, including 12 of Ludhiana, were in the ventilator.
On Thursday, 8,240 fresh samples were taken for testing.
At present, Ludhiana district has 18 active micro detention zones.
