106 Vendor Street in Chandigarh Regulates with Food Security Regulators

Chandigarh: A total of 106 street vendors dealing with food have been registered with the Indian Food Security Standard Authority (FSSAI).
This is for the first time in the city that vendors have secured certificates from national food security regulators that set high standards for cleanliness.
The food wings from the UT government health department will now provide regular training to vendors and make them aware of the central government guidelines.
If the vendor fails to comply with the standard, the penalty will be charged on them, which may rise to the cancellation of the FSSAI certificate.
“We have formed 12 teams to provide training to registered street vendors.
In the coming days, the more street vendors will be given FSSAI certificates and registered with it by providing training and guidance.
In addition, their routine examination, inspection in terms of food security , Cleanliness will continue.
We have also tied PGI as a training partner to provide training to the vendors, “said an official.
Because vendors must go through the process and procedure, which includes filing online forms, digital payments and registration to obtain FSSAI certification, food wings facilitate them from beginning to end and employee representatives to help them fill out form and complete paper.
