PUNE: Over 10 crore Covishield dosages are transported in town airport to several countries and a few states since January.
About 2.95 crore doses have been shipped in May alone, an airport official said.
With vaccine manufacturing anticipated to rise in June, the transportation count is anticipated to be greater.
On June 2, a total of 145 boxes comprising 16.70 lakh doses have been hauled from Pune to Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Lucknow on Air India, IndiGo, GoAir and SpiceJet flights.
SpiceJet freight freighter additionally carried135 boxes comprising 15.87 vaccine doses to Delhi.
“with seven times from May, a great number of all Covishield doses had been hauled out of the airport.
From January until May, the airport has transported over 10 crore vaccine doses,” an official told TOI.
Back in April, 3.60 crore vaccine dosages have been hauled in the airport.
During March and February, 2.03 crore doses along with 1.39 crore doses, respectively, had been shipped.
January saw transport of 1.26 crore doses.
The initial consignment of Covishield vaccine, containing 2.6 lakh doses, had abandoned the Pune airport January 13.
