Thiruvananthapuram: Eleven Members of the Criminal Gang — Allegedly involved in attacks on local residents and police serving in Neyyyam and Kottur were arrested by rural police on Sunday.
They have thrown gasoline bombs in the police on Thursday and went into hiding.
One of the police was injured in the attack.
People who were arrested were identified as Asif, 25, Uzhamalakkal, Waseem, 22, Poovachal, Ashiq, 19, from Perukaram, Sibi Vijayan, 22, from Aruvikkara, Renjith, 22, and Ahijith, 22, Ratheesh, 22, Ratheesh, 22 , and ANU, 31, from Amboori, Sambhu, 23, Kunathummet, Ajith, 23, from Vazhichal and Harikrishnan, 23, Veranakavu.
The gang attacked the police team after the police made several arrests following the report on sales of marijuana and forbidden liquor.
Many previous gang members were imprisoned after being punished in various cases.
