Ghaziabad: Because of delays in civil work, only six oxygen plants from 11 planned in the district have become functional.
Officials said they would try to finish the work on the plant left on August 15.
So far, the oxygen generation factory has been established at ESIC Hospital (160 LPM), MMG District Hospital (150 LPM), Joint District Hospital (150 LPM) (150 LPM), BHOJPUR PHC (330 LPM), and CHC in Loni (330 LPM) and Modinagar (300 LPM).
Meanwhile, oxygen plants have not been functional in the District Women’s Hospital (500 LPM), the Dasna CHC (330 LPM), Muradnagar CHC (200 LPM) and another at the MMG District Hospital (1000 LPM) and Joint District Hospital (500 LPM).
Oxygen plants in these places tend to arrive next week.
Plants are being established through funds from three state disaster relief funds, state governments, and private companies (based on corporate social responsibility).
The maximum of eight plants is being installed through CSR funds from private companies.
Civil work finished in all places except for CHC Dasna, because private companies were originally chosen to carry out a retreat work.
“The new company is carrying out work and we hope to finish the work at CHC Dasna on August 15,” said Dr.
RK Gupta, Nodal Officer for oxygen plants.
Dr.
Gupta informed that in some cases, private companies only provide factories while all civil works are being carried out by the government.
The work was in its last stage in two district hospitals.
Dr.
Sanjay Teotia, the CMS of the Hospital Association, said, “The warehouse is almost ready and pipe too.
There are requirements to put new pipes and it will be done soon.”
