New Delhi: About 11 percent of the total Covid-19 cases in this country have been reported in people who are less than 20, health minister Bharati Pravin Pawar told Lok Sabha on Friday.
The minister responded to the question of the number of children up to 18 years that had been contracted Covid-19 in July 2021.
Providing details of the Covid-19 vaccine for children in pipes or experimental stages, pawars, in a written reply, the national regulator said – CDSCO – has given permission to conduct a clinical trial of the Covid-19 vaccine in children to Bharat Biotech, Hyderabad (in the age group 2 to 18) for phase-II or III of the entire Viron Vaccine SARS-COV-2 which is not active and to Cadila Healthcare Ltd., Ahmedabad (in the age group = 12 years and above) for clinical trial phase-III DNA-based vaccines.
The results of this trial will depend on the data that arises from the trial for the purpose of the agreement and availability in this country, the Minister said.
