Jaipur: Eleven Covid patients have been tested positively for Kappa variants in the country so far.
Health Minister Raghu Sharma said, “Four samples were tested positive for Kappa variants from Jaipur and Alwar, two of Bmilwara.” The numbers are based on the test report from the Genom Sequence Laboratory.
Of the 11 cases, two tested positive for the Kappa variant at the Laboratory of the Genome sequence at the Sawai Hospital Man Singh, while nine was tested positive in the laboratory in Delhi.
The minister said the Kappa variant was not as unlimned with Delta’s tension.
The Kappa variant, which is a type of double mutant from Covid and also known as B.1.167.1, was first reported in the country in October 2020.
Because of its complex nature, the world health organization identifies it as a “interesting variant.” The Ministry of Health has sent samples for genome sequencing over the past few months to find out whether there are new variants circulating in the state.
The country has reported a case of Delta + variant recently in Bikaner.
However, there were no cases of lambda variants that have been reported.
