Coimbatore: Following the attack on Hindu Officials Munnani, rural police have mobilized more than 300 police personnel in Mettupalayam to prevent unwanted incidents and form 11 special teams to arrest two unknown people who attacked iron officials on Saturday night.
Chandrasekar, 35, Secretary of Urban Hindu Munnani, was on his way to the office of the clothing in Mettupalayam on his motorbike when two unidentified people were interrupted and attacked him with an iron rod in a naripallam road and escaped.
He suffered an injury in his hand.
Chandrasek was treated at a private hospital by motorists on Saturday night and hundreds of Munnani Hindu cadres gathered at the hospital.
Meanwhile, R Sudhakar, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore, Muthusamy, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Coimbatore Range, S Selvanagarathinam, police supervisor, Coimbatore, camping in Mettupalayam since Sunday afternoon.
“We have formed 11 special teams who are working on various angles to track the identity of the two people who attack Chandrasek.
We will immediately arrest the duo,” Muthusamy said.
Police personnel have been deployed at temples, mosques, public meeting places, including bus stands and train stations, and several other places.
One of the police teams tried to collect recordings from CCTV cameras installed in commercial companies in Naripallam Road.
Chandrasekar has a meat shop.
He has previous hostilities with several people, police said.
On Sunday, the police also asked several suspects.
Mettupalayam police registered a case below Section 307 (murder attempts) and 341 (penalty for wrong restraint) from the Criminal Procedure Code.
Further investigation is active.
