The investigation has revealed that the eight accused of Pimpalgaon had gone to Jungle Navtala on Sunday night and boiled sambar who was mature near the madnapur pool with the help of trained dogs.
After a group of trained dogs brought sambar down, hunters killed the animal and took him to Pimpalgaon where it was chopped and the meat was sold.
A total of 11 defendants had been arrested in this connection.
They include Arvind Nannavare, Nikhil JivTode, Avchit Borrow, Raju Ghuguskar, Rupesh Dharne, Eknath Barekar, Suraj Gharat, Abhishek Nannavare from Pimpalgaon and Shankar Meshram, Raju Wadhavi and Ramu Kumre from Navtala.
RFO Naitam ratified the attack and arrest 11 accused.
