Jaipur: Under the Dr Ambedkar scheme for social integration through inter-caste marriage, only 11 approved in Rajasthan in the last three years, the central government data has said.
In 2020-21, only one inter-agreed marriage was approved by the state government under the scheme.
The Minister of State for Justice and Social Empowerment of Narayanwamy gave answers to ‘Dr.
Amedkar Scheme for Social Integration’ for an infinite question at Lok Sabha who was appointed by MPS Shivakumar C.
Udasi, Sudhakar Tukaram Shrangare, Pradeep Kumar Singh, Ranjeet Singh Hindurao Nimbalka.
According to data, four marriages were approved in Rajasthan in 2018-19 under the scheme for social integration through inter-caste marriage and six were subject to sanctions in 2019-20.
It also stated that 120 marriages were approved in the country under the scheme in 2018-19, 248 in 2019-20 and 353 marriage was approved at 2020-21.
“This application is required to be forwarded through each district / district judge collector and the Social Welfare Department with recommendations.
Applications received directly without having recommendations from competent authorities are returned to the applicant who asks them to reject the proposal that is authenticated / recommended by authority The person concerned in the state government, “said the reply.
“Moreover, there were cases where the couple’s marriage was not found under the Hindu Marriage Law, 1955, but registered under the state wedding registration law.
In such cases, the district / judge district collector concerned was asked to continue the certificate about Couple’s religious status, “he added.
