Coimbatore: Rural police arrest two men and seize 1.100kg forbidden tobacco products from a warehouse in Somanur in the city on Saturday night.
The police arrested tobacco products stocked by men and Rs 73,400 of them.
Duo, Mothilal, 40, from Mill Road in Karumathampatti, and the younger brother of Sitaram, 36, Somanur, is a native of Rajasthan.
Police says the brothers run the grocery store in a rental building in Somanur and use other buildings in Somanur and use another building as Godown to store grocery items.
Police Karumathampatti enrolled the case and arrested the duo.on November 15, 2019, the duo save forbidden tobacco products in the warehouse in the Moppiripallayam near Karumathampatti and supplied tobacco products to coimbatore, pollachi, tirupur and erode.
The Saravanampatti police arrested the brothers and confiscated Rs 72.28 lakh worth of tobacco products forbeak from them.
