Noida: The Ministry of Health has identified around 11,000 children under two years and 5,000 pregnant women who will get a routine dose of vaccines.
They were identified during fever surveys in the last nine days and officials said they could get shots on Wednesday and Thursday at 160 sites.
Drive Covid Vaccination at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has been canceled for two days so that health workers can do routine immunization.
“We asked all parents to get their children to vaccinate the earliest.
When fever and flu cases increase, vaccines will provide protection from many diseases,” said Dr.
Neeraj Tyagi, district immunization officers.
He added that this district had around 43,000 children under one year and 80,000 under two based on the health department’s population projection.
Tyagi said if people could not take shots in two days, another drive could be planned on September 20 and 21.
About 1,500 teams have visited nearly 10 lakh houses in the last nine days as part of a fever survey which will end on Thursday.
Meanwhile, other mega covid vaccination drives have been planned for September 17.
