Prasagraj: At least 12 new dengue cases were reported in the district on Friday, taking the calculation of dengue fever patients to 359.
New cases detected in Katra (1), Nayapurwa (1), Naini (2), Rajapur (2), govindpur (2) 1), Manda (1), Kaurihar (1), Kaudhiyara (1) and Koraon (1).
Of the 12 cases detected on Friday, six came from the city area while resting six of the rural areas.
In addition, of a total of 359 cases of dengue fever in the district so far, 256 is in an urban bag while the remaining 103 is in rural areas.
The Ministry of Health officials after witnessing a significant surge in dengue cases in urban areas, intensifying anti-larval spraying drives in Katra, Govindpur, Chota Baghara, Rajapur, and other regions to examine the spread of disease.
Officials appeal to people to adopt prevention steps to keep mosquito-transmitted diseases.
Spraying and anti-larval fogging are also taken in trans-ganga and trans-yamuna areas.
