Guwahati: The death of 12 Covid patients on Monday at the Medical Medical College Premier (GMCH) Hospital came as a blow to the Ministry of Health Assam at the time of the position in the state fell to 2.01%.
Until recently, around three averaged deaths were reported from hospitals in the capital, but the rise of numbers suddenly had the health minister of Keshab Mangana worried.
He rushed to hospital at 1:30 a.m.
“I came here to keep an eye on how the hospital functions.
Twelve patients have died.
We need to make some changes in management here.
Senior doctors are needed at night,” Manganta told reporters on Tuesday.
The Minister examined the functions of each department and emergency because there had been a suspicion that there were not enough senior doctors at night at a government hospital.
Even when Manganta got rid of speculation about the third wave that had hit the state, he said preparations were in full swing to protect children from a fresh surge.
“At GMCH we are preparing 300 beds for children.
Every district hospital is ready to overcome the possibility of the third wave,” Minister said.
The GMC administration said the oxygen saturation was low among patients and the lack of vaccination was the main reason for death in the last 24 hours.
