VIJAYAWADA: ” In a rare example of capital punishment has been handed for as many individuals simultaneously, a sessions court in Andhra Pradesh’s Ongole on Monday sentenced to death 12 guys — gangster Md Abdul Samad, alias Munna Bhai, along with 11 of his accomplices — at 3 cases of dacoity resulting in the murder of six individuals around the Chennai-Kolkata street in 2008. Five other convicted members of this gang got jail terms of 10 years every week two have been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. In general, 11 murder cases were registered against the group, a few of which have been ignored because of insufficient proof. Three other cases continue to be in various phases of trial. Each of the victims had been truck drivers and cleaners. They had been all stopped, robbed and murdered by the group, whose members had to groom because cops. The trucks and lots are subsequently sold to scrap merchants.
