Kolkata: Twelve people have been arrested by West Bengal Bengal from the Rajarhat area which is close to the charges of running a fake call center and cheats several people by offering them a easy loan, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
Acting on the complaint submitted at the Cyber Police Office of the Cyber Department of Criminal Investigation Department, Sleuggells of the Agency captured 12 of the two floors of high-rise buildings in Rajarhat.
“The defendant made a call to people in various parts of the country and deceived them with the pretext of facilitating easy loans approved by well-known companies,” the officer said.
More than 40 cellphones, and a large number of burdensome documents have been confiscated from their captured ownership, he said.
Incidentally, earlier this month, police detective Kolkata has arrested a group of 19 people from the Salt Lake area for allegedly running illegal call centers and deceived several people, especially Australians.
