Nagpur: 12-year-old Rajput Kuldeep died and his grandmother Sushma Kashyap (60) suffered serious burns after the LPG cylinder caught fire on Monday.
The police said the incident occurred on the CPWD Quarters in Tangkhedi.
The police said Kuldeep was a STD VII student and used to live with his mother’s uncle.
On Monday afternoon, his grandmother prepared a snack diwali in the kitchen.
Kuldeep accidentally pulled the cylinder pipe which resulted in fire, police said.
“He suffered serious burns.
His grandmother caught fire when trying to extinguish the fire,” police said.
The NMC API tender poured fire and shifted his kuldeep and grandmother to the hospital.
The doctors stated that the kuldeep was taken dead, while Sushma was said to be critical.
The police realized that it had registered an accidental case of death.
