Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police have removed the name 1,256 from a rowdy sheet.
At Parivarthana Sabhe, organized by Mangalura City Police, at the T V Ramana Pai Convention Center on Thursday, Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the city had 3,263 rowdy sheets and this, 1,256 people had been hit from the list.
Among them, 80 was old, 663 did not have a delayed case against them in court, and 513 was not active.
This is possible for the first time in the state, that more than 100 names have been removed from a rowdy sheet during the leading festivals and major programs, noise sheets are expected to be present at the police station.
Many of them have not been active in anti-social activities in the past five years, or have no big cases that submit to them, and lead responsible life.
Quoting an incident, Commissioner said that a rowdy Sheeter was charged with 1994-95, sharing his difficulties in getting his daughter to get married.
Some of them have children who have taken a good job.
Given all these factors, the official team includes DCP (law and command) Hariram Shankar, DCP (crime and traffic) B P Dinesh Kumar, AccP and Inspector meet almost eight times over the past three months, and assess list carefully.
