Patna: Overall 127 empty cartridges were recovered from a landfill in the P & T colony in the Kotwali police station area in Patna on Tuesday morning.
Kotwali Sho Sunil Kumar Singh said the cartridge was packed in a plastic bag and was thrown in garbage.
He said most cartridges were 0.22 bore while some from 8mm.
He said both types of cartridges were used in ordinary rifles issued for civilians.
Singh said a sanitation worker Patna Municipal Corporation saw the bag and told the police.
He said the Prima Facie seemed someone had used a licensed firearm in a shooting celebration and thrown there to escape any legal action.
