New Delhi: An estimated 13.8 crore people, namely 49 percent of the population, 60 years and above have been vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the government said on Tuesday.
About 59.7 crores aged 18-44 years, which is 15 percent of the population, has been vaccinated with the first dose of vaccines, he said.
The cumulative vaccine dose given in this country has crossed 33.1 crore so far, said the government.
From June 21-28 57.68 lakh the average daily dose has been delivered.
From May to June 24, 56 percent of doses have been given in rural areas, while 44 percent are given in urban areas, he said.
As many as 20.9 crore people aged between 45-59 years, namely 42 percent, were vaccinated with the first dose of the covid vaccine, he added.
There was a decline of more than 85 percent in Covid-19 Caseload active since the peak reported on May 10.
A sharp decline of more than 85 percent in weekly peposititives has been recorded since the highest weekly part of 21.3 per cent reported between May 4 to May 10.
