Bokaro: Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), one of the largest hospitals in the region, lost his reputation as the main health center because of the super specialist crisis in various departments, especially in the midst of fears of pandemic and fresh for Omicron.
Of the 16 super-specialist departments, only three who ran while the rest, including the most important ones such as cardiology and gastroenterology, without specialist doctors.
Even the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a critical treatment unit (CCU) do not have special intensive to care for patients.
Only general practitioners and general surgeons who run the show in most departments, which resulted in the increasing number of patients referred to other hospitals.
BGH is run by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) Authourity Steel of India Limited (Sail).
Head of Communication, BSL, Manikan Dhan, said, “Recruitment drive for specialists and super specialists in BGH has been done in the past.
Management is interested in providing facilities required.
Efforts to hire a specialist.” He added that the situation gradually turned into more good.
“We hope to get some of them soon.” Recently, 14 doctors have been recruited by BGH, but none of them are super specialists.
They are general practitioners.
One of the main reasons for BGH’s fate is the lack of acute super specialists.
BGH currently has super specialists for neurosurgery, combustion and plastic & nephrology.
Sources say many super specialists and famous doctors leave BGH or retire in recent years.
Head of the Cardiology Department of BGH, Dr.
Satish Kumar, also left BGH this month.
Kumar is the president, Indian cardiologist, Jharkhand Chapter.
Similarly, Head of the Gynecology Department of BGH, Dr.
Rupam Singh, also resigned recently.
After Dr.
Satish Kumar, the BGH cardiology department received the highest number of patients, will no longer have DM cardiologists or cardiothoracic surgeons.
