New Delhi: While releasing the first list of 34 candidates for the election of the Punjab, BJP once again attacked Charanjit Minister Singh Channi’s chairman in scamper sand mining in his election and accused him of promoting people accused of trading drugs.
Increasing the problem of worsening the security situation in the state, BJP said even the PM was not safe there, referring to the January 5 security hose incident when PM was blocked on the flyover while traveling by road.
For the February 20 poll in the state, the Saffron Party announced a list of 34 candidates covering 13 Sikh, eight of the scheduled casts and 12 farmers.
Removing a list at the BJP Head Office, Secretary General of Tarun Chugh said the party had given representation to all parts of the community, and the first list included 12 people from farmers families, besides doctors and other professionals.
These names include former Minister and Cong Mla who recently joined the party.
Former Minister of ManoRanjan Kalia, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, the MLA Congress, who joined BJP, Arvind Khanna, Ex-Cong MLA from Sangrur, and Kanwarveer Singh Tohra, grandson of Akali Stalwart Gurcharan.
Referring to the recent raid by the Directorate of Enforcement and Recovery of Countless Big Money, BJP leaders accused that Punjab CM “very involved” in corruption and people close to him were involved in sand mining fraud.
