Coimbatore: A 40-year-old farmer was arrested for illegal ownership of 1,308 gelatin attached to his farm in Nattukkalpalalayam near Gomangalam here on Sunday.
The police learned that K Vijayabu kept the explosive stick on the command of K Ponnusamy, 50, the owner of the stone mine.
Furthermore, they arrested Ponnusamy and his employees, R Kanagaraj, 60, who went back and forth between agricultural land Ponnusamy and mine in Nattukkalpalalayam to move the stick when in need.
All three came from Kanjampatti village near the pollachi.
The police said Ponnusamy was used to getting a gelatin stick from Selvaraj from Udumalpet and made them safe in a building located in the Vijayabu farm field.
After getting a tip, the Gomangalam Police Inspector, Murugan and the team carried out an attack on Vijayabu property in Nattukkalpalayam on Sunday and seized Gelatin’s stick.
After the investigation, Vijayabu told the police about Ponnusamy and Kanagaraj.
Police registered the case against the trio below 286 (negligent behavior in connection with explosives) and section 9 (b), 1 (b) the 1908 explosive law and captured them.
The defendant was produced before Judge Judicial and then returned in the custody of the judiciary in the prison of Gobichettipalayam.
