Bhubaneswar: The State Government has directed 135 non-governmental assisted universities to submit their utilization certificates (UCS) grants received towards infrastructure improvement and renovation of these institutions affected because Cyclone Fani.Fani has hit Odisha beach on May 3 2019 damages thousands of houses, government buildings and other structures.
A total of 159 blocks and 52 urban local agencies in 14 districts have been influenced by a very severe cyclone storm.
After a review of the situation, the state government has released Hospital 30 Crore grants to repair and renovation of infrastructure 145 government assisted by Puri College, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.
Funds were given from the Minister of Public Chief Assistance (CMRF) in March 2020.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education, only 10 of the 145 universities were assisted so far submit UCS for more than Rs 1.86 Crore.
135 Other universities have not sent their certificates to utilize more than RS 28 Crore, the official source said.
The steps were taken to submit the UC balance and restore a balance that was not used early, the Ministry of Higher Education said in official communication to the General Administration Department.
