Surat/Bharuch: As many as 14 quacks that had been practising in a variety of sections of Bharuch district for many years have been nabbed at a string of raids on Monday.
Teams of the special operations group (SOG) and neighborhood police channels simultaneously raided practices of those fake physicians and discovered them practising with no medical diploma, license or certification.
The vast majority of these are in West Bengal, said authorities.
Authorities said each of them have functioned as compounders before in their home cities, so that they had some understanding of medications and primary therapy.
Six quacks have been nabbed from Dahej, three in Ankleshwar city, four in Ankleshwar rural region and also only one out of Umalla village.
Sarweshwar Tiwari, 63, was practising for about 18 years while others had been practising for about two to three decades.
Police stated they were completely unfazed when the raids occurred and answered all the questions.
“One of those quacks is grad because he’s finished BCom differently all others have just finished HSC.
The majority of them are out of West Bengal and you can be out of Bihar and they were used to function as compounders in a genuine physicians’ practices straight home,” stated Agency K D Mandora of SOG.

Cops have captured psychedelic medications, injections and medical equipment worth more than two lakh in the quacks.
Besides Tiwari, authorities detained Bitan Poddar, Rudrarai Rai, Sarweshwar Tiwari, Bratish Poddar, Anita Biswa, Namoranjan Biswas, Madhumangal Biswas, Biswajit Biswas, Sukumar Pal, Swapankumar Mallik, Nibas Biswas, Animesh Biswas, Rabin Rai and Bikaskumar Biswas.
Police suspect these quacks might have treated Covid patients since they never asked anybody to undergo Covid evaluations done even when they had some signs.
“They’d give paracetamol or some other medicine that will curb the symptom,” said a police officer.
