Gurgaon: Next year, the three-meter cycle line is set to appear on both sides of the stretch of 15 kilometers between IFFCO Chowk and South Peripheral Road in the city.
The 12.88-crore RS project, officials said, arranged to benefit a large number of cyclists who use routes every day.
Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) Core Rency (CPC), which approved a proposal last month, has also decided to connect the cycle track with which will be built on the Golf Road by DLF through the sector 27, 28, 42 and 43, among others.
Connecting both roads will give cyclists with a safe route to go from one way to another, officials said.
“Until now, we are looking for public feedback about proposals, after which tenders will be carried out.
Once the actual work starts on the ground, it will take around nine months to develop a track,” said a senior official GMDA.
Street lighting, installation of road safety furniture, and signs and images of cycle logos on the road surface will also be carried out as part of the project, officials said.
In addition, Bollard will be installed along the trajectory to prevent the entry of two or four wheels.
The sidewalk will also be built together with the track, and in areas that already have a path, it is necessary to “repair” will be made, he added.
The proposed track was the latest among the many infrastructures developed by GMDA during the past year to reach the 800 km cycle track target in 2035.
The first cycle trajectory in Gurgaon – Track five km on both sides.
Stretch between downtown Huda and Subhash Chowk – has been inaugurated on October 2 last year.
Since then, similar songs have appeared in other parts of the city, including along Hamilton Court Road, part of the Old Delhi-Gurgaon road, Vyapar Kendra Road, and service lanes near Gold Souk Road.
Last week, the population advisory board urged the authority of citizenship to speed up the work on the new cycle path and remove barriers to existing ones.
“Stretching between IFFCO Chowk and South Peripheral Roads is accessed by hundreds of good daily cyclists to go to work and for recreational purposes.
A special cycle track will not only protect them but will also promote the cycling itself,” Sushant Sharma, Mg Road residents , to Ti on Tuesday.
Sector 47 Resident Aniket Rumta also agreed that the cycle path will benefit the local population.
“But it is important that the intersection that enters on the road is also in harmony with the track.
There must be a crossing and special signal to allow cyclists to pass the intersection safely,” Rumta said.
