Rajkot: 1,487 LPG cylinders have been stolen from the Indian corporate bottling plant (IOC) located on Jalan Kuvadva in Rajkot City in two months.
The police had ordered an unknown security officer and the truck driver took part in the complaint submitted by the Deputy General Manager of the factory.
The suspicion pointed to the Ahmedabad-based security agency whose contract was stopped on November 20 because their work was unsatisfactory.
“The suspected cylinder has been stolen between August and October this year.
The theft was revealed after the difference was found in the audit carried out on July 31 and October 2,” said senior official from Kuvadva Road Police Station.
Previously, the Gupta RN Security Agency was employed for a period of one year ending January 2, 2022.
On November 20, IOC hired another Ahmedabad agent.
The security agency is responsible for keeping traces of all LPG bottles coming and out.
