Salem: Of the 45 Covid-19 treatment centers opened by the Salem District Administration, 15 temporarily closed on Monday.
The health department official said that they could reopen the centers in an emergency.
Asymptomatic and symptomatic patients (mild and moderate) are treated in these centers.
Every central meal between 100 and 200 kadayampatty and the karumandurai is closed.
These centers do not have any patients in the last 10 days.
The Department of Health officials indicated that they did not empty these centers because the third wave would hit the country in a few months.
“We have saved beds and other medical facilities in the centers,” said an official.
30 other centers have up to 30 patients.
“We will close them after all the patients run out,” he added.
The Salem District Administration established 1,000 beds with oxygen facilities in the Salem steel factory place.
“At present, less than 200 patients received treatment in the middle while less than 600 patients received treatment at SGMKMCH,” officially added.
